The value of MusiGramma
MusiGramma is the web site where you can find any edition
of sheet music: it aims to be the most complete solution
to finding scores on line. MusiGramma is both a starting
and finishing point. A start, as it gives an answer
to the problem that all musicians encounter: searching
for musical sources and editions for work or study,
but it is also the finishing point as once found they
can be ordered and delivered to your front door.
The catalogue of catalogues
MusiGramma presents itself as the complete sheet music
catalogue, something like a "catalogue of catalogues",
a general sheet music bibliography, a dictionary of
authors, an index of editors, but it wants to be more:
it wants to be a vivid catalogue and not only a simple
list of edition titles, an open structure, in continuous
evolution, thought of to meet the needs of desperate
searches and which grows with new editions and content.
It allows you to search by author, instrument, ensemble,
location, date, genre, art movement and period, publisher
, series and also to combine all these as one wishes.
The Target Audience
Musicians, students and music teachers, musicologists,
composers, concert organizers, conservatoires, theaters
and music institutions, music editors and music shops.
Organics
A violinist can find all scores related to his/her instrument
as a quartet will for his/her ensemble and a conductor
for his/her orchestra. One will be able to find if a
quintet for a harp, a sax, 2 violas and a kettledrum
was ever written or how many double concerts for violoncello
and orchestras there are.
Location
A passage written in Florence can be found either by
searching for Florence or Tuscany (the region), Italy
(the Country), Europe (the Continent!). Each geographical
location is connected through a parent child relationship.
